RE: The scams are getting more sophisticated every day

For one, H&R really screwed up, the olman redid his friend's taxes and got him ten grand back, over three years there was even interest added.

And bear i mind, you have to put in all the information to Turbotax as you would the regular form. On federal, the only additional things you have to do it look up your AGI on a table to find the tax owed and see (not that ikely here) if you can get EIC. If you have investments there is a form for that. State can e a little bit more complex but actually I stopped filing state when I worked in a different city than I lived, in fact a different county. But if you must do state, which is the case if you owe them, the instructions are right there.

Where H&R screwed up was not asking the right questions. Well Turbotax doesn't really ask them either.

Not filing state means I lost my refunds every year, but then no city taxes. In Ohio they will double whammy you.

Another good joke was they wanted to tattle on your online purchases and pay the sales tax. HA ! One more of my way of dealing with the government - If they ask they do not know.
