...your truck should have a higher weight class/load rating than a standard passenger car tire typically would. That could account for the substantial price difference. You could probably get away with a standard passenger car tire, unless you actually tried to do any hauling/towing. With the heavier curb weight of the truck vs a car, they will probably wear much more rapidly, as well.
