RE: Notice how 'tolerance' abruptly left the lexicon?

huh ... no offense intended but you didn't elucidate on why you think 'tolerance' left 'the lexicon' ... maybe point to an example? you've only just restated your original comment

of course people and society judge others for their actions ... both tolerance and intolerance arise out of judgements from value systems

'tolerate difference in whatever form it came'

lets suppose the form it comes in are behaviors / actions realized

'honor killings' are acceptable in some cultures: is that tolerable in your judgement? pogroms are policy in some societies: are you OK with this? 'caste systems' result in inequalities and are embedded in certain cultures: should these be encouraged or discouraged? in some parts of this country and 'religion' it's OK to have multiple wives, and in fact, they believe that this 'stable' of women includes 'grooming' said wives for 'duty' in their per-pubescense: does that make you want to sign up or puke?

the above are some examples of what I judge to be atrocious behavior. do you find my attitude about them to be intolerant or do your answers track anywhere close to mine? I'll answer myself. I would and do not tolerate those things ... is that a negative or am I not 'enlightened' as it were?

what have you seen that prompted your statement that tolerance has left the lexicon? there must be something or you would have left it unsaid. I don't believe it has anything to do with stories from your wife about work. what is it? maybe I can help you understand what you're seeing, maybe you can show me what I'm not seeing. give it a try, I don't want to be a dumbass about whatever it is you're on about.

regards,
