Inmate Central, where civil and family-friendly discourse about off-audio topics (other than religion and politics) is welcome.

The article is NOT about politics...

...nor does it step-into the hot steaming piles spewed by all sides of "the blame game"--and there is plenty of "blame" to go around from all angles, but it's all pretty-much irrelevant, at this point. Could thing have been handled differently?--certainly. Would it have really helped?--no one will ever know, so focus people!

For every person out there that is mourning the loss of a family member, friend, or loved one, if only we had "grabbed the bull by the horns", so to speak, there is an equal number of people that claim that they wouldn't be losing their homes or businesses/livelihoods, and having to get groceries from a food-bank, if we hadn't done what little we actually did.

The article is about human/social behavior/attitude, and how that is changing as the pandemic continues to wear-on. Even those that faithfully followed the recommendations of health experts from the very beginning are growing weary of the current "new normal", and (to a certain extent) "giving up".

I know I've been "close to the edge" on several occasions. Just saying "fuck-it--I'm tired of living like this"--but I'm a little brighter than that, so I still religiously wear a mask, still have sanitizer and gloves with me at all times, don't dine-out/hit the bars, and continue to limit my interaction with others. I'd like to visit (in person), some of my family and close friends, but still won't risk it--for all of our sakes.

But OTOH--I'm retired, so my income/employment-status hasn't been dramatically affected, I don't have a house-full of bored/screaming kids to deal with every day, and I'm "isolating" on 13+ acres--not in a tiny apartment in the city. I don't know how long I could deal with any/all of those conditions, and feel bad for those that are forced to--and have been for months, with no clear end in sight.

"And today is for sale and it's all you can afford. Buy your own admission. The whole things got you bored. Well the Lord chooses the good ones, and the bad ones use the Lord"--a very dear friend for decades Michael Stanley (Gee)--RIP
