It's always interesting, and often telling, to pay attention to how people word what they say. Case in point: "controversial remarks". What controversy? Is it controversial to ask "Can this be done" or "How could we do this"? Aren't such questions the essence of exploration, research, discovery, and problem-solving?
Paying attention to wording, adjectives and "labels" provides useful insight into the presenter's viewpoint.
