RE: Your NutritionFacts.org videos both seem out of date

"I believe that the consensus now is that in the majority of people, eggs have no negative effect on cholesterol.

Rather then go on about eggs, it would be best to talk about the negative health impacts of sugar and saturated fats."

Yup, and I am wondering whether butter or margarine is worse for you this week. They changed their tune on that a few times.

I stopped using sugar a long time ago, and I don't miss it a bit. Saturated fats, whatever that is, don't seem to bother me.

"Health experts and scientists are constantly are constantly revising and learning new things."

And that is the problem. I don't take their word as gospel. Never will.

Like they discovered cholesterol. Now all the sudden there is good cholesterol and bad cholesterol. So then what should I fry stuff in ? And then there is the issue of hydrogenated, which margarine is, like Crisco. If I have to make a pie crust I will use lard.

I have also come to the conclusion they have done little to prolong the human lifespan. What happened in the past was that kids died from disease, war and other misadventure. Now they prolong your life but you are rolling around in a power wheelchair and on fifteen medications, half of them prescribed to fight the side effects of the others. The nubers themselves do not tell the whole story.

I am not saying they have done no good at all. Plenty of advances have improved the quality of life, for those who survive. I had a cataract operation and was out of there in an hour, but I had a great Aunt who died on the table for that operation. With heart surgery and stents and whatnot, they have saved plenty of people, but from what ? Why is the US tops in heart disease and diabetes, and a few other things ? I say because the food is no good.

In my line of work I have met some immigrants from Europe, and while they like this country, their main complaint is about the food. They say it is tasteless. Minerals make taste.

We will not solve these problems until we solve the nutrition problem. They knew since senate document 264. That was back in the 1930s. Everything claimed that would happen has happened. It has made drug companies a fortune.

But there is no easy cure for this. The land gets played out and the farm stays, people used to move. But a commercial farm especially can't just move, so they fertilize. They fertilize with what the plants need, not what we need. They get paid by the pound. Or bushel or whatever. The mineral content is not an issue in the price.

What's more it is impractical to do comprehensive fertilization, it would simply be too expensive. A loaf of bread would be ten bucks at least.

One way we do get our minerals is in meat, and that is because they have to give the livestock a comprehensive mineral supplement so they stay alive to market weight. The animal husbandry industry was quite a bit ahead of the medical industry for quite some time. If you don't take mineral supplements, you get it from meat.

The real problem is that there are simply too many people on this planet. It seems to feed them all but really doesn't.

But don't fret it, you do not need all the essential 24 minerals every day. They do not circulate in your blood all the time, normally. They are in your organs. Some get used up and others don't.

But over the years and years and years of reading about all this, information from other countries where they do not get rich when you get sick, what is not in your diet hurts you more than what is, with certain exceptions.
