I've always thought that as a civilization ages and matures, the net RF output goes DOWN.

While we (Earth) are emitting a LOT of RF, much of the really high power stuff is gone and replaced by lower power, direct satellite broadcast stuff which requires a fraction of the power.

Big Ticket Radar is still happening, but shortwave is slowing going away. Direct Broadcast Satellites for the TV services might not even be heard 10 light years away unless you used a large directional antenna aimed directly AT the Earth.

You all had better HOPE that our early TV isn't getting heard anywhere else, too. Just Imagine what would happen if 'they' started getting The Lucy Show? We'd be Toast.
