I've also played my 1987 Torino Red Eric Clapton Sig strat using the Matchless Hotbox stomper to get the OD sound that I want. Mind you I'm using the vintage Peavey tube guitar amp that put out 30 watts on two Russian vintage 6L6 tubes with vintage Jensen speakers on it.

The sound that I get matches that of the Marshall stacks, but not better though. The Marshall stacks are something else.

Did I tell you my sons destroyed my highly prized Fender 12 strings guitar that I bought in 1978 from practicing it? It was a small price to pay I suppose because right now they're making their own recordings and playing gigs on the weekends.
