I wasn't planning on taking any photos of the solar eclipse. I'm not even sure what I'll need for my micro 4/3 Olympus OM-D E-M5 digital camera.

I have a couple lenses and I suspect the inexpensive longer zoom might be appropriate. It is 300mm (35mm equivalent) at it's maximum zoom but slow at f5.6. But f5.6 is probably fine for the subject matter with a tripod.

I'm not sure. It might be worth setting up for a shot. I probably need some sort of 'eclipse filter' or dark neutral density filter? I haven't researched it and I may start a new post asking for opinions.
