RE: Use of filters, in digital photography

I use a UV/haze filter on some of my lenses, mainly for protection. Some have a good lens hood, so I often have no filter since the hood is protection. I often use a circular polarizer which can make a lot of impact to color saturation, glare reduction, and deeper blue skies. Anything you put between the glass and the subject has some effect of diminishing the image quality tho. Sometimes it's worth it. I am kinda a snob about it, I'll admit. When I use filters, I don't use cheap ones. Mainly B+W and Hoya.
