Ants and termites generally do take their dead back to the nest

And eat them (do not waste protein!).

That's why the one you put up is so good.

Years ago we had a real termite invasion in a house I just bought.
They were everywhere - in the floors, some of the walls, door frames, etc.

A pest guy came and used a powder puffer and injected reddy orange arsenic dust into the timberwork in several places around the house.

He said not to touch it for a week or two and that the termites would eat it and die, that the other worker termites would take the dead back and eat them and die etc etc.

I never saw a termite in there again.
