The suspension setup back in the day was woeful!

But yes, when the right things are done, they can go round corners and change direction pretty well.

I had a buddy with a 1970 or 71 Monte Carlo SS, 450hp 454. With the suspension, brakes and transmission fully done - It was brilliant.
No floating - it felt like it was on rails.
