People don't have to buy stock in companies not making money. They can buy stocks with a long history of dividend payouts, some with a long history of raising dividends. According to Ned Davis ,if I recall correctly, about 50% of the stock market's long term returns are from dividends. That IMO,should mandate investment in dividend stocks if investing in stocks for most people. T456
