911's aren't made anywhere else.
A couple years ago I was looking for a used MB C300 for my wife. A nearby dealer had two 2011 lease returns, one was exactly what we wanted and the other was brown with tan interior that we didn't care for. Both cars were marked with the same price.
The door jamb sticker on the car we wanted said Made in South Africa, the brown car said Made in Germany.
Remembering the VW Rabbits back in the day, the German ones with round headlights, and the American ones with rectangular headlights that didn't enjoy the same resale value as the German cars, I searched for anything significant between the two Mercedes and found nothing more than entries from original owners who were miffed after taking delivery of their new cars and seeing Made in South Africa in the door jamb.
We bought the South African car and it has been great.
