For years, at get-togethers where the meal was take-out pizza and everyone was asked what kind they wanted I would always ask for a bacon and onion pizza.

That always got eyes to roll.

Then when the pizzas came and folks smelled the bacon they had to try "my" pizza ...and before I knew it, my pie was gone.

I have a local pizzeria that puts just the right amount of char on their thin crust, cooks the bacon and the onions separately and throws them on the pizza when
it is about half-done. The bacon and onions are crispy and there is no more grease than on a regular cheese pie.

My kids have introduced countless friends to the "bacon & onion" pie. They are always met with doubt, until everyone tries a slice.
