My late wife grew up in Peru.
I loved travelling to them but you couldn't pay me enough to live in any of those countries. Unstable governments, currencies, over-populated cities, crime that makes Chicago look like Elysium, and poor hygiene standards.
This cyclical hankering by otherwise intelligent people to leave the country is a laugh. History tells us the USA is more notable for the poor performing Chief Executives it survived than the good of any of the few Solons. Why have we survived and flourished all these years? There are over 16 million Federal Bureaucrats beavering away to make sure the status quo remains just that.
