We are plagued by ground squirrels here in the western Rockies. They keep trying to dig under the foundation of the house (where they try to eat the electrical wiring) and under the mounting pad for the refrigerated air conditioning condenser. Worse,they get under the hood of my pickup and nest there because the engine is warm. So far, they've chewed up the underhood sound deadening blanket and ate one of the wiring connectors to the engine temp sensor.

I hate these f**kin' things and do all I can to eliminate them by trapping and shooting them. I've also found that if I mix about 70% Quaker Oats and 30% plain plaster of paris they'll eat the stuff then run away and die when the mixture hardens in their little stomachs. An old orchard man's trick.
