Actually, I have been tested and my hearing is "normal for a man my age" (whatever that means) said the doctor. With one exception of course, which in my case is that there is a dip in sensitivity in both ears from about 4200cps to 5600cps.
The odd thing is that the decrease in sensitivity is considerably more pronounced in my LEFT ear. Other than that small frequency band my hearing is not too bad.
When shooting, I always wear ear plugs and ear muffs. Especially when I'm firing rifles like the 375 H&H or the 300 Win Mag. I really enjoy my time at the target range, BUT, I want to enjoy those 6L6Gs when I get home, so...... no skimping on the ear protection.
