HowdyI don't know if it's related but I find myself almost always posting in response to other posts: I hardly ever post at the top level. I try to be helpful when people ask questions I do have some experience with. I also, at times, am defensive when people criticize the Asylum and feel a need to reply. The hardest for me are the posts where people are posting misleading or incorrect info. Sometimes is obvious that they just made a mistake, but sometimes it seems probable that they are being disingenuous. I still strive to correct them in a non-confrontational manner (but sometimes I just let 'em have it; we are all human after all :)
Earlier today I made a few top level posts over on Hi-Rez. As I did I was wondering if I was wasting people's time, etc. In return I get a couple of "thanks for posting", and even better a someone I don't know said "Ted- Thanks for your consistently high quality posts". Man I didn't know what I'd been missing by being reactive instead of proactive in my posting.
