You should have set up a fence 20' away on all sides and charged people five bucks to see the magic leaf. You could come up with some viable story like you were praying to the Tree God and she sent you a sign. Tree huggers from everywhere would have held pilgrimages to your house, and your whole neighborhood would look like the Grateful Dead was going to be performing. On second thought........
