Wow...so many bikes stolen...at least my son got his back!

There was a guy who fancied himself a cat-burglar who broke the screen in the living room, came in and took Barb's purse and Ryan's bike he'd had for 3 days! A gift for his 15th birthday, of course. They found out who the guy was and we got the bike back and he got 2 and a half years for every offense...he'd robbed 72 homes! He's eligible for parole in 2014!

When he was about 5, we had 2 bikes stolen off our porch and I went looking for them, having a good idea who took them. All of the kids in the neighborhood were scared to death of me as they knew I was totally nuts...I stood in the middle of the street and stopped a kid (the brother of the kid who stole the bike) who'd been "peeling" up and down the street fro a couple weeks after he'd gotten his licence.

Any way, I confronted the kid, got the bikes and told him to be at my door the next day or I'd call the cops. His mother and he showed up the next morning and I told them he could either help me clean my basement or I'd call the cops and tell them what he had done. My basement looked great!

This was a kid who was headed no where and I lost track of him when he went to Penn State! I imagine he did well there, as he had gotten loans and grants only because of the grades he'd gotten in school (not brilliant, just a hard worker)...and he was a D - F student when he stole those bikes.

I take credit for his changes...since he told me when he was a Senior at Chambersburg High School that he had changed because of WHAT I'D DONE TO HIM. Those were the words he used...said with a smile.

Did I say our basement was the basement from hell?

I wonder if you could do the same with that kid?

(yukky writing, but you get the idea!)

If I had more money I'd soon be broke...but I'd have more LPs!
