In all seriousness, the very fact that children were at risk should make the owner liable for at least a potential manslaughter charge and a correspondingly stiff penalty of a few years in the slammer.I guess the thought of the very young and otherwise innocent and vulnerable being put at risk raises my protective/parental type instinct.
As for the wee pup who gave his all to the cause, I say giving him the doggy equivalent to a Victoria Cross is perhaps in order :-)
