... two public holidays (tomorrow and next Tueday), two weekends and four days of annual leave produces a nice break of ten days!!!!
I really need this break as this last Christmas four-week break was spent horizontally with two doses of bronchitis and one of pneumonia - recovering just in time to go back to work.
I plan to forget completely about work, the office, colleagues, clients, etc and spend some quality time with myself, some music and the workshop....
This will also be a time to get back into that bloody record cabinet project - started in December 2005 - and finally finish the mutha, so that the LPs I've been unearthing, cleaning and re-sleeving can also have a nice new home and feel well-loved again.
Leaving the office this afternoon, I felt as if a tremendous weight had been lifted from my shoulders and the old spring was back in the step - young again!
Will fire up the digital camera and take some pics of the cabinet in it's final stages and then take great pleasure in inflicting them on the poor unsuspecting members of this forum (gloat)...
And, as a result of Wednesday's debacle in the West Indies, I now face the delightful prospect of a completely stress-free Saturday, when I'll be able to watch the World Cup final and not give a continental damn who winds - just enjoy the game and a good few golden frothies to keep me mellow...
So, Soxie, old pal - Wednesday's cluster-f*ck does have one positive outcome....
