Re: High-efficiency toploaders

Between the two of us we checked-out dozens of sites and about 6 stores before making this purchase, and one thing we came across time after time was (based on purchasers feedback) the "fact" that top loading HE washers still haven't got their act together, no matter the manufacturer. Sure, it would have been nice to buy another top loader and re-use the old drier, but after hearing/reading the umpteenth horror story about them we both shied away from them.

Our old Whirlpool units lasted for over 20 years, and both of us are believers in "if it ain't broke don't fix it". In other words, brand loyalty played a factor in this.
