Easter Monday after Easter Day fambly dinner, and snorting and guzzling the booze!!!!

And, a belated happy Easter to all.

This AM the Bailey's were* getting over / sleeping in after the extended Laird families traditional easter Day get-together at Ian and Karin's home in Calwell, it was also 'Mumma Sheila' Schneeman's birthday.

Twenty four people, Kerin and Ondina, Keis and Gabby and their two youngest the boys.

Karin's boys - Alexander and his Wagga girl, James and the stunning Vickie (a model) {{{{{:~)>} !!!!!,

Annie and Aidan and, Mason, Tim 2(needham) and Tahlia,

Margaret, and Sheila, and Ian and Karin of course, and my old mate Michael, and LBNL our patriarch John T. Laird.

Mick, and I, and Tim N all cooked a meat or poultry course, so the ladies did not have to slave over host stoves all day, we had to!!!!!!! Mine was boef bourgignon sized for EIGHT, and was the BIG hit!

{;~)} that's a BSEG!

* and then we had visitors, our dearest 'couple friends' Alix and Tim Casimir - up from Melbourne - and their little boys AND i HAD FUN herding /cuddling our 2 cats and t'other two we share with the neigbours/their owners.

Their pre-schooler Nicholas showed his big brother Michael (< 9yrs?) how to sieve dirty old pebbles from our OLD front path! Yes! the one that ladies fell over in as their heels sank.

Michael thought tossing the filled sieve 'up and down' was the go! Oh how I larfed ;-)!

Perhaps young Michael's first Cricket Test - Melbourne Boxing Day test of 2005 - and seeing Symonds and Hayden pounding Nel et al's bowling - high up into the stands, has actually stuck in his memory, as it has in mine.

I did begin thinking of putting young Nicholas on contract for the day as pebble siever - but Melbourne was 8 or so hrs away still. A very serious 'lil helper' I ween.

the Boef - B ?

Well, it was my best effort at B-B, EVER, and it IS a dinner party fave of mine. Long slow-cooking in the oven, AND searing all sides of the GRAVY-BEEF chunks are crucial.

Any thing better - like round-steak - really IS 'a waste of money' and just doesn't taste as beefy. All that sinewy stuff turns to unctuous gelatine and makes the sauce all shiny and just 'lishO!

about a >pint of good softish DRY red is the go! as are the lil onions whole and FRESH tiny button mushies!

"Ut DO melts in de mowf, massah bawse, yup!"

BSEG - {:~)>} !!!!!

BELCccCHhhh .... !!!

And, because of an event# on Sat'dee arvo, common in Can'tberra - none of the 4 Baileys were driving, so we were able to gave the sauce-bottle a fair bit of a SUCK as well.

Hungover?! Moi! says Timbo!!! - in 'wasn't, isn't and how DARE you sir! - land'.

#? the event!!!! a fairly big and athletic, but - 'dumb as a box of rocks' - Eastern Grey Kangaroo - a mature buck!? Decided - after some hesitation - neverthless to proceed - ANYWAY! - with hari-kiri on the front right-hand of the car, bouncing over it and onto the other side.

Tisha was much affected by the roo's determination to connect with the car - she'd all but stopped when he HIT! She stayed with the roos until 'the wild-life' - the rescue mob - came!

So the big front bib/spoiler has gone, and both RH and LH wings will need 'a bit' of TLC as well. And a whole three-bulb front light array at Toyota OEM parts prices. PLUS the clear placcie pebble-guards!!

???? $$$$$ ???? A coupla / THREE / FOUR grand's damage! Not quoted on, I'll take the car in fer that THAT termorrer!

Yes, this WAS 'in the suburbs', between two older / inner suburbs (pre WWII) of Deakin / Hughes, just down from the Red-Hill ridge/ nature reserve!!!

Yes, our resident mobs of Roos really ARE cutesy pootsie and awww-ish and all THAT, but they are also a PITA when blended with traffic. They just KNOW that the grass / pick IS greener over t'other side of any given 4-lane divided freeway / feeder road. If you are unlucky! Road kills are common AS.

Sniffule!

But taken all in all it was a pretty damned FINE Easter, even IF I didn't mention the fine communion service - at which our GG and our PM* attended, OR the spinet accompanying 'Domine Deus' as the first anthem - solo soprano - A being @ 430hz!

Choir sang 5 communion anthems as well - before we'd all supped! Place was packed! * yes it is our pro-Cathedral, OLD diocese dating from the 1830's, of which old Goulburn was the centre. And, where the two past Cathedrals still ARE!

'historical' Goulburn is MY next walk to organise, too JBTW.

Hope your Easter was as good! taken all in all.

Oh yes, and Aus beat the Poms at cicket AGAIN, still .....

Nuther BSEG!!!!!

Warmest
