They're in the House of Commons' foyer or whateverWSC is returning from the House dining room one of his renowned long-lunches trailing cigar and brandy fumes AND a shoal of friends. And, AYWE he is loudly expounding on whatever, in fairly blunt and clourful terms!
Lady Astor, MP for Portsmouth hears him above the buzz of all the other members, walks up to him, and in her inimtable Christian Scientist / schoolmarm style, says.
"Winston!!!! You are DRUNK!"
"Nancy! You're right, Yesh, I AM drunk!" says WSC.
"But by tomorrow I'll be sober, and YOU will still be ugly!"
total hush! followed by roars of laughter!!!!
