My BILaw* was then in the firewood business, fed by all the ringbarked forest of large gumtrees on most of the farms in NSWrecord cabinets? yes, eventchewally we WILL get there!
the we added a circulation system with plenum chamber under the house
Butttt, we also STILL kept the oil heater in the Lounge dining which was on a sub floor above the carpet and set into a breast in the exterior brick work with a chimney/flue on top.
later than that we went over to over the ceiling heating panels, as his* sister (my SWMBO) finally lost it about the grey film all over the house!
And I looked at the oil heater once more, Hmmmm a floor to ceiling space WAY deep enough for LP's. Removed oil heater, and cut out all the framing above it, reset roof tiles, rmoved most of the copper pipe and the tank.
Found that ex-gov't shelving units were miraculously the right depth and width to fit the gaping hole. Bought two 16 inch deep ash-veneer shelving units, with lines of holes for the retaining pins for the adjustable shelves. Cut the 2-door cabinet off the bottom of unit B, and the top off unit A and inverted B onto A's bared top after redowelling the joint. The top off unit A went onto the cupboard from B! Added fibreglass batting on all 4 sides and top, plus waterprrof foil/paper cover in case of rain leaks. A few bolts and liquid nails, 3 mitred solid ash strips and lacquer to dress the narrow gap 'tween the dry wall and the cabinet, and ......
Viola! a 2.4 meter high by one wide BUILT-IN* LP cabinet, which still has room for collection growth. And it doesn't take up ANY floor space*. A Christmas hol's project.
