I honestly wouldn't know what to do with more than 1,000 LP's...

... I mean, I'd probably only play 2-3 a day (at maximum) - so would take about a year to get through 1,000 - never mind >5,000...

Actually, I've already started the process of weeding out albums that may have interested me back when I bought them, but - since then - my tastes have moved on... I am adopting a three-phase approach:

1) First level "gut-feel" sorting into "keep" & "lose"
2) Review "lose" items, in case mood caused a wrong decision
3) Final weeding of "keep" items

At that point, I'll take the "lose" items to a charity shop...

I plan to adopt the same approach with CD's as much the same logic applies - except I'll probably try to find a "swap-shop" instead of a charity outlet...

What I may just do, is to archive some of the "doubtful cases" to the hard drive on my Yamaha CDR-HD1300...

We don't really have the space and what space we do have is taken up by almost 6,000 books - which are not going to be tossed out until after I've shuffled off this mortal coil!!
