That stuff happens when he comes over to my place as well, but it's usually limited to speaker swapping as I don't have the amount of gear that graces YOUR household. And as we've talked about before, our wives seem to be twin Sisters who got sent home with different families from the baby ward. So it's always exciting at our place as well. I've heard the Mrs. outside yelling at the Chihuahua on several occasions, and we don't even have one.
I did some playing with my system over the weekend. Swapping cables, and playing vinyl. Since I've been using the Luminous Audio Axiom preamp I've needed to do some cable swapping as there's only one out and one in. After one swap I had absolutely no volume. Hmmmmmm, amps are on and not in standby mode *CHECK*, CD player is playing and there's no tray error *CHECK*, interconnects firmly seated at both the source and preamp *CHECK*, The same set of interconnects are connected between Source and Pre *CHECK*. So WTF is wrong?? I'm still getting absolutely no volume.
Hmmmmmm, turn preamp over the check the little IN and OUT labels. Shit and Double Shit. Swap the In and Outs. Perfect sound forever!
