more turkey talk

The turkey population where I am originally from in Ontario (Prince Edward County) was non-existent 3 decades ago.
At the back of our farm is a conservation area where the Fish and Wildlife guy released 20 birds back in 1989.
These days it is not unusual to see flocks of over a hundred birds in the grain stubble. They're everywhere .
A prodigious growth pattern to say the least. Even with some natural predators (coyote & fox and a spring shoot) the populations continue to grow.
Same goes for a number of other bird species that just weren't there when I was a kid. Eagles, vultures, swans, cranes...a lot.
The link below gives a list of comfirmed sightings in the area. There's a lot there I've never seen!
