Re: There must be some sort of cultural difference...

It's possible... my wife and I never speak to one another so harshly and never would. We only have 12 years together so far, but IF (and it's a big IF) my wife was ever crass, impolite or "disturbed" enough to utter such a statement, you can be sure I wouldn't take it at face value!

I think high divorce rates have more to do with a complete misunderstanding of the concept of what a marriage is and should be than any actual "cultural" differences, unless the marriage is between two people of completely different cultures, and that aspect gets in the way.

As for my comment, I was playing into the "funnies" aspect of the post, albeit in a stereotypically, "hey guys! here's a good un" kind of way...

Now, a sense of humour on the other hand, can undoubtly be defined by cultural differences...
