Yesterday's WCC match was a well-deserved win for Australia - on the day, their tournament strategy, match tactics and performance demonstrated that they understand the need for proaction and flexibility if a side is to win.
Hayden and Gilchrist started the "SA coffin construction" and the tight bowling/fielding "tossed the sand on it".
We were definitely out-played at the tactics level and our persistence with:
1) the same-old, same-old bowling (predictable as Hell)
2) the same-old, same-old batting (Kallis stodge)
: was hard to accept.
There are a few positive aspects to take away from the game:
a) AB de Villiers shows promise (only that miraculous throw...)
b) Graham Smith can play both sides
c) Andrew Hall is an asset
So, we soldier on into the Super-8 series...
