IF you look - very carefully in from the left hand side about a sixth on BOTH piccies - you can just see the aerial mast on the skyline, of the repeater station which serves to provide mw, mobile phone GSM and digital, and UHF TV extension into the township of Tuggeranong.

then go about a quarter in and you should be able to spot the black dot of the trig-point

You'll find a map of this one of many such nature parks within urban Canberra, you will note that it is about >270 metres UP from where we live. That is in the topmost 'thumb-tip' bit of Kambah to its West, the bit that is entirely open to the bush to the WEST and thus vulnerable to fires!

We left the 4th red-access-hatch along the road on the Sthn edge at 20 to 9 stopped along the way, and did a fair bit of sight seeing up top AND had morning-tea on top, and were back at the cars by 10:20. Are us old fogeys FIT, or what!?

IF you go here

You can access maps of all the nature parks in Canberra itself, and can note that they are mostly within urban areas, and that many lead into are are beside further nature parks, and it hs been called 'the bush capital', for that reason among others since it was mooted in the 1920's, it only really GREW post-wwII. From SFA to 370,000 people in bout 40 yrs, spread across enough country to hold a coupla BIG cities.
