well the guttering is DONE, including the leaf guard, flashing, barge covers, front gutter on deck! OLD concrete tiles?

the old guttering was 100mm or so by 55mm deep, and all the new is 105mm* by 115mm deep and most of the new install has overflow lips all the way along the outside.

The new deep guttering between the house and deck only JUST fit* into the gap> It is flashed from the deck's roof down into the guttering. Each each length of flashing spec'd/formed uniquely - over the weekend - to exactly fit into the gutters and around 2 corners ( -L ). Each piece of specailly bent flashing is there to resist spray entering along the gap between house and deck, and to extedn the life of the deck's timber upper framing which is older Oregon. There's a run of the deep unslotted* along the front of the deck plus a temporary 90mm PVC downpipe* that I supplied to keep the splashes away from the stirrups and timber uprights.

Splashing from the ends of roofing (- or from spouted guttering!) could assist the timber uprights to rot, this I know.

Pleased and relieved.

But the concrter tiles froming the roof are losing their old Mission Brown baked-on coating, and I am told that this means they will become increasingly porous. Is this TRUE!?

NB Many are cracked along their jointing/laying edges which creates leak avenues anyway! True?

To redo all the roof, relay the ridge capping, replace some tiles and some ridge caps, scour clean before painting with a long-lasting surface with a 5yr guarantee will be another $5K plus.

?????? sighhhhhh!!!
