I would contact the three credit report agencies and put an alert on her accounts (after applying for replacement credit cards and changing your accounts at the bank). This will prevent anyone from obtaining her credit information and thus prevent them from getting cards, bank accounts, loans etc. The alert is effective for 90 days and I suspect most identity thefts will have moved on to easier targets by then.
