then surely no-one would have believed that the possibility of such staggering incompetence could be taken seriously...Which IMO prompts three main questions:-
1) Who has actually been culpable for such a farrago, and will those responsible be adequately punished for such criminally irresponsible threat to the effectiveness of the nation's forces and unjustified extortion of the public purse?...
2) What steps are now (or can be put) in place to prevent another similar disaster?... Who is making sure that such steps will be effective?...
3) What other unconsidered "cock-ups" are taking place in either military or political circles that are being hushed up, instead of being addressed and prevented in future?...
With China starting to re-arm and thus possibly soon becoming some sort of a rival for sales of military product, with the F-22 reports in mind the US will possibly find that it cannot automatically claim superior quality and reliability for it's military hardware and software... The only justification in purchasing options of high technology is - after all - that such items are expected to be reliable, and to work better than previous examples...
Any developing Chinese military alternatives would, no doubt, have a significant price advantage...
And if your nation's specialist warplane supplier can't even ensure that the bloody door works.......
Bill.
