I had heard the same. Also, that a lot of the supposed new, yuppie-oriented micro-brewery beers which became popular in the 80's were in fact not at all independently manufactured, but owned by the big companies. Certainly they shared manufacturing facilities.That was interesting to learn that beers are different strengths from state to state, I just assumed it was the same for all.
