Re: Cleaning electronic components - what to use?

When I got my ST-70 (many years ago), it followed me into the shower. Used a toothbrush, artists brush, some soap, and a piece of 'Nevr-Dull'. Kept it upright, to prevent water from going into the three transformers, and two pots. Rinsed thoroughly. Let it dry for one day. Then I used aerosol solder flux-remover, on the underside of the chassis. The tar and nicotine, and dirt, just rolled off (use outside, this stuff is deadly, and keep away from plastic). Unit still works wonderfully.
I do not suggest this for tuners.
