RE: One Channel Hum Affected by Volume

True it's new, but I suppose it can't be ruled out. The builder of these controls (Hi-Fi Audio in NYC) uses really good pots. I have used them before on other rebuilds and never had an issue.

I'll try swapping the input wires to the volume pot tonight as they are easily within reach. I am pretty sure if I understand the schematic, its doing essentially the same thing as the mode selector switch would do, I'm just curious. If I can just rule out the preamp section, it can narrow down the search.

The more I listen to it, I think it's a ground issue. However, the ground scheme is so strait forward and seems like if there was an issue with the ground, it would be in both channels the way I see this....
