I've done several pairs of this era (2ax/3a) for myself and friends and I've tried each time to remove and clean the pots but once they are pitted etc, they will have dead spots. The new pots from AR-Guy (and the surround sealant) make a potentially frustrating set of tasks redundant and they will likely work much better across their range and last longer than any repaired pots.
