When I got into audio my 1st setup was PAM 1 preamp with Mk III's driving Vandersteens. I think I listened to the set up until a friend brought over an Audible Illusion 2D preamp he wanted to sell. It only took me a few minutes to agree to buy his AI preamp and sell the PAM 1. I wouldn't spend a lot of time any money trying to make that preamp right I don't think it's possible.
