I have listened to BES speakers now and then going back to 1978 or so. As an engineer - I am amazed a "distributed resonate mode" loudspeaker can do so well. I Remember listening at the old Federated Orange County hi-fi store, comparing the BOSE 601 towers head to head with the BES's
