RE: What do you think?

Electrically the A/B speaker selector is wired together when engaged. So you can skip a step and just run a line from the back of the speakers to the subs channel L/R.

Just a thought but an 8" sub is an awful idea. Try to got for the 10" if possible. The 8" by virtue of it's size will be almost impossible to filter out the upper frequencies. Even with the plate amp set low you will still have upper level bleed through and it will effect the sound.
