RE: Tube amp for EMI DLS 529 Dangerous Loudspeaker?

If 12 WPC really is enough, a UL mode "El Cheapo" fills the tube amp need on budget. Edcor's CXPP25-8K O/P trafo is good enough for UL, without busting the budget. Either 6CM6s or 12AB5s would be nice, low cost, "finals". AA sponsor Jim McShane charges about $15 for matched pairs of those 2 types.

BTW, if folks back in the day tried AR3s with amps in this power range, it's very little wonder that the "Dangerous" speakers sounded better. AR3s mate with superior PP KT88 amps, like the H/K Cit. 2 and McIntosh MC275. No "cheap date" here. :>D
