Yep, Phillips was one of the classic "under the radar" receivers. Truth be told many of those receivers were actually better built and better sound quality then their competitors of that time. It came down to name recognition when it come down to sales.

I don't remember the pricing of those units???? But I don't think they were all that cheap.

Enjoy it because it really is a good piece.
