RE: Ampex 6973 mono block amp output transformer wanted

Pal brought up excellent suggestions especially with Heyboer.
I would like you try something first.Your tech told you it's leaking HT, but unless it leaks primary to secondary,you can maybe repair this transformer from the leakage to the case if that's what he meant.Judging from the corrosion on the core,you need to take off the metal end caps and clean all those rust particles that may have worked their way inside.Clean them out and then put a drop of silicone on each wire connection where it hooks up inside the transformer.Then,you need to change the cardboard insulators inside the end caps and that many tines solves the DC leakage problem.If your lead in wires aren't exposed hooking to the wires inside the transformer,you don't need to silicone them.
It's worth trying to fix this transformer because it matches your other one.
