RE: Lamps for Epicure Model One Amp




Radio Shack sell a small matchead size lamp with wire leads. Their part number is 272-1092.

They are 12V/60mA. You can wire two in series for 24V, three for 36V, etc.

I have used these for lots of applications, including internal lamps in VU meters, receiver dials, etc.

I usually start with a 250-300 Ohm pot or rheostat in series with the lamp, and dial it down until the brightness is 60-70%. Then measure the resistance and install a 1/2W or 1W fixed resistor of approximately the same value. This way they last almost indefinitely.
