Really? I don't find that to be the case with low level devices like DACs, CDPs, line stages, phono preamps. etc. as there's no substantial size advantage. All my thin and cheap DVD/Blu Ray players use EI cores. Or, consider two similar Oppo players, one with a toroidal and the other, without. Note that the one with the toroid is in a larger case. As for non-switching power amps, I'm just not seeing them shrink as a result either. Here's a Pass LabsINT-150 and here's the Emotiva XPA-5 I purchased recently for the HT.
