Beocentre 3500 query

Hi all,

First post here - just registered, so hello all.

I've recently bought a second hand B&O Beocentre 3500 music centre.

Was working fine until I started to press the switches on the front of the unit, after which the sound became crackly and occasionally will cut out from either, or both of the speakers.

Fiddling with the switches again occasionally makes it come back on.

Anyway, after some advice I got some contact cleaner and carefully opened it up and sprayed all the switches from within.

Turned it back on later and it was all singing and dancing again.

For 20 minutes.

Then it just dropped the volume immediately and randomly. It's like I've turned the volume down to 1 when it's actually on 5 or 6 or so.

Left it overnight and tried again in the morning - no luck.

I'm going to try again tonight to see if I can get any joy out of it, but to experienced users, what would you think the source of the problem is?

Any information greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Max
