RE: Vintage Magnavox CD Player



















I am also not 100%, as it has been a while since I owned Philips/Mag. I do know the first ones were 14 bit for sure and they had the cdm1 transport. Besides the players you mention Denon and a few others had rebadged Philips. I'd like to own the Denon. I did have the '89 Mag cd492 because of the tda1543 chip and cdm4/19 swing arm transport. It was smooth yet plenty of detail, though by 1989 the build wasn't as good, but the guts were super nice with copper shielded circuit board.
